About Hank

Adoption Fee: $100
Flat-Coated Retriever
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This is Hank. He is a 4-year-old flat-coated retriever looking for his FOREVER home. Hank is up to date on his vaccinations and takes a heartworm preventative regularly. Hank is a very sweet, fun-loving dog who loves to play outside and go on walks. He has to go to a home where he can be taken on multiple good walks a day, and somewhere that has a yard he can run and play in- no apartments. Hank has been an indoor dog his entire life, so he has to go to a home where he can remain an indoor dog. He needs an owner who will take the time to play WITH him, not someone who will just put him outside all day to play alone. He is a social dog and needs consistent social interaction with his family, as well as other dogs. He loves to go to the park, dog parks, and especially Tanner park where he can run and play in the water. The lifestyle he is used to has to continue and remain consistent, and he needs to go to a home with someone who also lives an active lifestyle and can commit to his physical needs. Hank is a special part of our family, and this is one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. He was our first baby, but unfortunately he isn't getting along well with our human babies, and sadly because of this we have to find him a new home. He needs to go to a home where there are no small children, grandchildren, or any other children regularly around. So if you have young kids, grandkids, run a day care, have neighborhood kids over regularly, or plan on having children ANYTIME in the future, Hank will not be a good fit for your family. He does fine with older kids (teen age). His breed is expected to live anywhere from 10-15 years, so he still has a long life ahead of him. He has to go to a home that will commit to his entire life span, and that can provide him with a quality and happy life. He needs to go somewhere where he is considered a family member, and will be respected and treated fairly and kindly, and loved at all times. We are charging a re-homing fee to assure he goes to a good loving home. All of his food, dishes, leash, harness, and toys will be sent with him.
