Name: Yogi Age: 8 1/2 years Sex: Male (confirmed neutered) Breed: Belgian Malinois Location: Berkeley County, WV Vet Info: Yogi is confirmed neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is next due for the rabies vaccine on 12/19/2019. He has not had a recent heartworm test. Yogi weighs about 100 pounds. Yogi's owners tell us that he has glaucoma and is completely blind, and that he developed anxiety after his blindness. Owner Info: Yogi is a gorgeous fellow whose owners are unable to meet his needs. They write, 'We are not able to provide Yogi the love and attention he needs. He is acting out because he is always outside in a fenced in yard and he is scared by loud noises such as fireworks, thunderstorms, and gunshots (we live in the country and neighbors sometimes hunt or fire weapons) because he can't see. He chews through the fence and injures himself to get out of the yard and run to the house. He cannot be inside because of our two young children. He would never hurt them intentionally, but would accidentally. He was in a crate inside at night and during times when we knew there would be loud noise, but he isn't always comforted by that and does not like being cooped up. My husband is at his wits end%BD'%BD%BD....%BD'%BD%BD. Yogi still enjoys life and will flourish in the right home.' They are desperately hoping we can help. Yogi is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, he is housebroken and leash trained. He is a very smart fellow and knows some 'Basic shutzhund commands.' Yogi is good with men, women, and teenagers, and male and female dogs, but does chase smaller animals. His owners write, 'He has always been a good boy, but very energetic, and he has an intense spirit. He has never been aggressive towards any person. But he did chase our cats and other small animals. He has never killed any animal.' Yogi can be possessive of toys, treats, or food, but has never shown aggression towards humans. His owners feel he adapts well to new situations and tell us he's done well boarding in the past. Yogi's owners know they are not the home for him, and are desperately hoping we can help! 'Please help him. He is a good boy and does not deserve to die because he ended up in the wrong home.' %BD'%BD%BDPlease contact [email protected]. Please note we will ask for a vet reference.
