About Greta

So, I'm not the most confident lady, but I sure do try! My friends here at Michiana tell me it isn't totally my fault though - I haven't had the easiest life. Let me tell you about that later, but first - my name is Greta! I am about 4 years old and am spayed. I'm a smaller lady, only about 30 pounds or so! I may take time to adjust to strangers, but boy do I make an effort. Initially upon getting to the shelter, I was so afraid of men. Guess what, though - I hop right onto their laps now! They have given me time to learn that I can trust them. It's kinda nice to not be afraid of everyone. Having a larger male dog in the home would be great for me. I get little crushes on these handsome bigger boys and my tail wags nonstop! They help me come out of my shell! So a home with other dogs would be something I could get on board with! Given that strangers can make me nervous, a nice, calm home without younger kiddos is best for me. Now let me tell you what happened before I came to Michiana. Three years ago I was part of a nearly 200 dog rescue in Tennessee in 2015. My friends and I were used for breeding in puppy mills. Luckily, a nice person rescued me and gave me a chance at a new life. Sadly, my person got sick and had to go into the hospital. I was adopted out again but then my new family added too many little dogs too quickly for me. Once I trust you, I am all in. I will come up for snuggles, hugs, affection, and love. But please understand that it may take me time to get there. I am loyal and so loving, even after all I've been through. I know I will be an amazing companion and an incredible best friend to you. Will you give me a chance? You may need me as much as I need you.
