*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Howdy, friends! My name is Harrison and I am a special little dude who has been on quite the journey to find my forever home! If you are looking for a bubbly, entertaining but also snuggly and cuddly stud muffin to call your best friend for life, well, here I am! I am a 3-year-old Chihuahua and I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation. If I could be bold for a moment, I must say that I am quite the handsome little fella! I currently weigh in at 11 pounds, but am on a diet because my doctor says I should maintain a weight of 10 pounds to be at my healthiest. I have snow-white short fur that also has tan circular marks that make me special and unique. That basically describes me perfectly: special and unique! I came to Fetching Tails Foundation from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where I was brought after being hit by a car. I had some pretty serious injuries and was lucky to survive; thanks to my loving foster family, I have had the best care while I slowly recovered. I had to have surgery to place a plate and screws in my hip so I could walk again; I have worked hard in physical therapy and am now a happy, lively little guy! I love to follow my foster mommy around, especially when she is in the kitchen and I get animated when I think I might get an extra little treat! But my favorite activity is definitely snuggling as much as possible: I will either crawl under the blanket to nap against your leg or curl up next to your head on the pillow. I am definitely a ladies man and love to be around my foster mommy as much as possible, but will also cuddle with my foster dad, too! I get along with kids, but would prefer older children in my forever home who understand that I need gentle affection because of my previous injuries. I currently live with three other dogs and enjoy their company. My favorite furry friend is fellow FTF adoptable Rosalie because she has a laid-back demeanor like me, so I would do best with a dog who isn't too active and hyper. I have some pretty awesome manners, as well! I am potty trained and crate trained; I had to spend a lot of my recovery on crate rest, so I know how to make myself comfortable and relax while my foster parents are at work! And my personal favorite trick is to do a play bow and roll over for belly rubs. I love to be spoiled! Now, I do have some special needs I should tell you about: I suffered some head trauma in my accident and have a bit of vision loss in my right eye. You might notice that I dont blink as often with that eye and have slow response to anything coming toward me on that side, but otherwise it does not affect me much. I will also need to keep a svelte figure and stay between 10 and 10.5 pounds because of the plate in my hip, and will need joint supplements and anti-inflammatory meds for the rest of my life. I take my meds and supplements easily (like I said, I love treats!), but they are important to keep me feeling well! My foster mommy will be happy to explain my continuing care in more detail. What is most important to know, though, is that I am a happy, sweet, and snuggly boy and after everything I have been through I am so excited to start the next chapter of my life with you by my side! If you think I could be the little darling for you, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and tell them that Harrison sent you!
