About Dukey

My name is Dukey and I am a soulful, calm cuddlebug who is looking for a royal family to call my own! I am a 6-year-old Retriever mix, and as handsome as they come! I weigh in around 45 pounds, which makes me the perfect size for all the cuddling in bed with you that I enjoy so much! I have luxurious golden fur with some stunning white highlights on my belly and around my face, which perfectly highlights my soulful eyes and big smile don't you think? My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where I was brought after my previous owner passed away. I was very sad and confused by my change in circumstance as you can imagine, but I have settled into my foster home well and enjoy the calm, relaxed atmosphere! I am shy at first, but once I know you I absolutely adore you! My favorite activity is definitely snuggling; I love attention but I am laid-back and don't demand it...when you are ready for some tv and cuddle time I will be patiently waiting nearby! Even though I am mostly extremely chill, I do enjoy a rousing game of fetch from time to time, too! I currently live with a kitty cat and get along with her; I sometimes get silly and try to play chase with her but I only aim to be fun! Otherwise, I am not high energy so I would love a calm home where we can enjoy the relaxing, cuddly lifestyle! I am a humble guy and don't mean to brag too much, but I must say that I have pretty wonderful house manners, too! I am potty trained and don't need to be crated when my people are away from home while at work and running errands. I am perfectly happy to find my favorite comfy lounging space and relax while my foster family is out for the day. Of course, I am always happy to see them when they come home and get a nice back massage as a greeting. My foster mommy tells me all the time that I am a low-maintenance boy and very well-behaved.
