About Balta

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi there! My name is Balta, and if you are looking for a sweet, fun friend to enjoy winter adventures with, I could be the perfect lovely lady for you! I am a gorgeous 4-year-old husky mix who is looking for a forever home through Fetching Tails Foundation. I am a medium-sized husky and weigh in at about 40 pounds. I come dressed in formal wear, with my black coat and white chest! And how can you look away from my pretty face when you catch a glimpse of my bright blue eyes? It is impossible! I have a soulful personality that will really make you fall in love with me. My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from Chicago Animal Care & Control. I prefer a calmer environment, so I was very happy to leave the busy, loud shelter behind and settle into my foster home. I know it must come as a complete surprise to those of you who know huskies, but I totally love this colder weather and running around in my foster mommy's fenced yard. Winter is definitely my season, and I think we could have a lot of fun together enjoying the crisp air and falling temps. But when I have burned my energy I am very happy to come back inside and curl up for a nap on the sofa. Play hard/nap hard, am I right? I get along well with people of all ages, but would prefer a forever home with older children because I can spook easy and will shy away from sudden movements or unexpected loud noises. I also live with other dogs currently, and get along pretty well with everyone; I wasn't very interested in playing with the other pups at first, but am learning to be a part of the pack! I think it would be nice to have another dog in my forever home who will help me continue to gain confidence. I am a very polite girlie, and have excellent manners! I am totally potty and crate trained, and am content to rest in my crate while my foster mommy is at work or running errands. Foster mommy says I am also pretty quiet, and only bark when I get excited. When I think of my ideal forever home, I think it would be lots of fun to have a fenced yard in which I can run and burn energy, and it would be nice to have kind, active humans who will enjoy going for long walks and adventures with me!
