Max is the most positive dog you will meet! He ended up in a shelter, having possibly been hit by a car, injuring one of his back legs. Ready 2 Rescue pulled him, and called in an orthopedic surgeon to look at him. The vet made a custom plate to attach to the bone to repair it, but his bones were so tiny, that after an hour of trying, he ended up having to amputate the leg anyway. Max took it all in stride.....when examined at the vet (and in pain), he just wagged his tail and gave everyone kisses! It took him very little time to adjust to missing a leg, and now he RUNS in day care, not slowed down by it a bit! He is one of the sweetest pups we've had here at Ready 2 Rescue! He's already healed from his amputation, has been neutered, microchipped, and is current on shots. He's about a year old and only weighs about 7-8 lbs. If you'd like to meet this precious guy, go to ready2rescue.org and fill out the adoption application on the home page.
