About Boomer

Boomer is a very sweet and gentle 7 year old pure bred German Shepherd. He is a total love bug who loves neck rubs and lots of petting. Boomer is a low energy dog whose favorite activities are chewing on his bone and sleeping on his bed. He walks great on a leash and doesn't pull. Boomer is housebroken and will let you know if he has to go to the bathroom. Sometimes you can get him to howl by playing videos of dogs howling. Boomer does well with people and other dogs. He will bark when someone comes to the door (and sounds quite fierce), but is very friendly and will warmly greet new friends. He was recently around a three year old and was very gentle with her. Boomer has been around dogs of all sizes and mostly will ignore them, he is content to be around his human and do his own doggy things. Boomer currently lives with another German Shepherd and does not currently live with a cat. He seems very interested in cats and is not deterred even when they give him a swat or two. Boomer does have some health issues. He has pannus and irritable bowel disease. The pannus is controlled with eye drops. The irritable bowel disease is being treated with a combination of steroids, B12 injections, a probiotic, and a special prescription food, which results in approximately $120 in monthly expenses. Due to his health issues he cannot have any treats and is currently underweight and will need to gain around twenty pounds.
