About Patch

Patch is a darling little 2 year old chihuahua mix who is looking for the perfect forever home. Patch was surrendered to the Humane Society of Yuma by his family because he was marking in the house. Sadly, this is a problem that could have been fixed by training, but instead he was surrendered. Now Patch has made his way to Arizona Small Dog Rescue and we are on the search for a loving family who will train Patch instead of giving up on him. Patch is a very petite boy who is tall and long legged, but weighing in at only 5 1/2 pounds full grown. Patch is very sweet, but shy at first. Patch talks very tough if someone walks up outside his kennel, but he quickly softens as soon as you open the door and show him you want to give him love. Patch is hesitant when being picked up, but always allows it and melts quickly into the arms of his person. Patch is a very quiet boy so far, but we are hoping he would gain confidence and show a more playful personality once in a home. His previously family stated that he knew to go outside for the bathroom and would poop outside, but marked in the house. Patch will need patience and training as he adjusts in his new home. Patch is good with other dogs, but is a very petite boy who will do best with other small dogs who are not too 'in your face'. Patch would not do well with younger children as he needs patience and someone who will move slowly and quietly with him until he has fully gained trust in his new forever family. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, & vet checked. His adoption fee is $220. His adoption includes a free vet visit and 30 days of free pet insurance. To meet him, come to our shelter location 1102 W Hatcher Rd open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. Please call for location on the weekends as we have off site events some dogs attend.
