YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Poor Loki - this is one sad tail. His family dropped him off at a extremely high kill shelter at the age of 10 in California. The state he was dropped off in was an absolute mess. Loki's time had run out in the shelter, so with open arms we took him into the rescue to save his life. We got him to our vets, and the litany of medical care this poor guy needed was heartbreaking. He needed his eye removed immediately, he had a raging ear infection, his teeth were an absolute mess( he needed to have10 complex teeth removed), and his remaining good eye needed medication. The poor little man was a smelly matted mess, too, and was given a good bath and grooming. After everything Loki had done medically, and all the care he needed, he is still the sweetest gentleman. He has adjusted well to the removal of his eye. His remaining eye will need continued monitoring and medication to maintain his current vision. While he struggles to track a toy if you toss it, he can certainly find it by its squeaks! Loki lives with other dogs in his foster home, and he will come running if they are squeaking a toy as well! Loki also has an excellent nose to go with his hearing, and will come jaunting to the sound of a treat bag! He loves all things snack as well as soft comfy beds. Did we mention he loves squeaky toys? And snacks? Loki also loves to sleep on or at the feet of his people and he will make an excellent companion to someone who wants a snuggle partner. Loki will need to go to a home where people are present during the day & it would be nice for him to have another dog in the home for companionship. He will also need a home who understands all of our rescues do need work with their potty training. This little guy is neutered, chipped, up to date on all his shots, just had a major dental, heart worm negative & looking for a quiet home who will cherish this little man. Loki has an adoption fee of $450 & this fee does not even cover half of his medical care alone. Like most dogs in our rescue, Loki will need help with potty training. ----------------------------------------------------------- **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. When submitting an application, Please be 100% certain that you are committed to completing the adoption process. This includes having all household members in agreement of the dog adoption and being prepared to complete the adoption once approved. We are committed to placing each dog in the very best home possible. As an all volunteer rescue we spend several hours vetting and approving each applicant and every minute spent working on applicants that are not prepared to complete the adoption takes us away from saving another dogs life. This truly is a life and death matter for these precious souls. Thank you for your understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog. We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Adoption Process All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each of our dogs.
