About Pongo

Pongo is such a sweet, beautiful boy! This darling boy is barely a year old and weighs about 80lbs. He is friendly with everyone he meets, sits politely for his treat and then he off to race through the yard and play a game of chase. He can sometimes become a bit too excited when he meets new people so he will jump occasionally, but he's SO smart... he's learning very quickly that he's too big for this type of greeting! Pongo loves his people and just wants to be near them so he does have a bit of separation anxiety (unless he's with his doggy pal) it's understandable though, becasue he has been in a boarding facility for more than 4 MONTHS! We've been able to step in to help this boy by placing him in a foster home that allows him to run the yard and stretch those longs legs, and that helps him realize he's going to have lots of the attention and love he craves. He has not been well socialized with other dogs so he is a bit insecure with new dogs when he first meets them. But after just a few minutes, he will run, play and wrestle with other large, neutral tempered playful dogs. He needs a person that will commit to helping him excel in his training and give will give him lots of attention and excercise. Running, jogging and hiking would be ideal! Children over 10yrs old is the home would be fine, and another large, playful dog would be ideal. He MUST have a 6ft or taller, securely fenced backyard and until he learns that he's finally found a home and can feel more secure, he should not be left alone for more than 5-6hr intervals.
