About Samson

SAMSON IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION TO A PERFORMANCE AND/OR BREED-SAVVY FAMILY HOME. Samson is currently fostered in Clearwater, FL (Pinellas County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Samson is an Australian cattle dog mix between 8-11 months old and 38 lbs. He is a young, athletic dog that needs to be kept busy physically and mentally. He cannot be expected to be happy being left out in the yard or crate, as he will find something to do. He crates nicely at night and should be crated when left alone and at night. He still has some of the 'puppy chews' and will chew something up if he is not properly watched and kept busy with other activities. He learns super easily and is in the process of mastering the treadmill and the basics of disc. Samson walks great on a leash and gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. He has so much potential as a performance dog, but would also make a great family dog with an experienced handler. He does try to herd other dogs around. His favorite activities are tugging, retrieving a ball, and learning to chase disc rollers. He is working on basic commands with his foster family. Samson really wants to please. He had little done with him early in life but he is a blank slate for his forever owner! He is well on his way as an overachiever! Samson is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative.
