About Hart

Oh my heart, it's Hart! This handsome devil is a 2 year old supermutt - we think he has some AmStaff and maybe some German Short-haired Pointer, but it's hard to say! He's a blend of many delicious flavors. Hart has had a tough life so far - he arrived at ACL from a local animal control where he had been found as a very skinny, very nervous stray. Hart is a sweet guy who loves attention and already has been picking up on commands! He's a total genius when it comes to training. It's clear that Hart was never anyone's pet - he doesn't have a lot of manners yet, and he still can get overexcited when there's lots of excitement around. Despite his early troubles, Hart has made huge strides in the short time we've had him - we are confident that a stable home with some time to adjust will turn Hart into the perfect pooch! He's housebroken and great on his leash. He'll do well with calm, tolerant other dogs who can give him some time to calm down, but no cats or small animals please. Because he's still learning coping skills, he'll do best in adult homes only. Hart has a required enrollment in 'A Sound Beginning' training program at the time of adoption to help him learn the basics about home living.
