Vet Info: Ozzy is confirmed neutered. Per his vet's office, he is not UTD on vaccines and has not had a heartworm test. They said he does have diabetes and the start of cataracts. His owner reports, 'Ozzy was diagnosed with diabetes in September 2017. He receives 7 units of insulin every 12 hours. Other than that, he is a very happy dog and in good health.' He weighs about 26 pounds. Ozzy is a very handsome and sweet Schnauzer/Poodle mix whose owner is not able to give him the time and attention he needs due to work. He is home alone a lot and she feels he needs someone is around more for him with his special needs. She writes, 'Ozzy is diabetic and has lost some of his eye sight. I currently live alone and work 30 miles away from home. It has become extremely difficult to take care of Ozzy in the manner in which he deserves. Owner Info: Ozzy is a very sweet boy who needs someone who is home more for him. His owner is very upset about parting with Ozzy but feels it is in his best interest to find a family that can give him the time and attention he deserves. His owner shared, 'I have signed up to Adopt a Pet and have spoken to the vet, where I have posted a flyer for anyone willing to adopt. I have also called a few shelters recommended by the ASPCA, but have not had any luck with that.' She feels she isn't home enough for him and said this, 'Ozzy is diabetic and has lost some of his eye sight. I currently live alone and work 30 miles away from home. It has become extremely difficult to take care of Ozzy in the manner in which he deserves. He is left alone at home for very long periods during the week.' Ozzy is an indoor dog with run of the house. He is housebroken and leash trained. He's a smart fellow and understands several commands including, Food, Treat, Walk, Stay, Sit, Come Here, Outside. Ozzy has a very outgoing temperament and is good with most everyone, human and 4 legged friends. He hasn't been around cats but his interactions with dogs has been positive. His owner shared, 'Ozzy hasn't lived with other dogs, so this is based on his interactions with other dogs. I have however, dog sat for one week with the dog in my home with Ozzy and he was fine.' He has never shown aggression and is not possessive with treats, toys or food. His owner said, 'Ozzy is a very calm dog and good-natured dog. He spends most of days laying around, sleeping or looking outside. He has never bitten anyone or any other animal. I can leave him without a leash on the front porch and he will never attack anyone or any dog walking by. He is VERY friendly and playful.' His owner feels that he will adapt to a new situation fairly easily. She said, 'I believe that he will because my son has taken him to his apartment a few times. Ozzy does not run around the house and usually either stays in his bed or under the dining room table. He is very laid back.' Ozzy's owner really wants to find him a loving home where he will get lots of attention.
