About Valerie

Valerie was one of a few dogs seized by animal control due to poor living conditions. This super sweet girl was a favorite of the shelter workers before she went into her foster home. They describe her as shy in the shelter but warms up quickly as she feels safer around a person. Valerie will also open up and relax when in the play yard. Valerie really enjoys soft blankets and beds. She is also very clean and does not bark much. She loves to have her ears rubbed. Valerie is 2 years old and about 25-30 pounds. Please help Valerie find the loving home she deserves. From Valerie's foster Mom: She definitely is timid. She is less fearful during mealtime so that is good. Poor thing must have had a few bad years. She is playing nicely, which is great to see. We're working on housebreaking. I attached some more pictures. The one of her napping on the chair with all the toys is my fav. She put all these toys here by herself. She sources them and is very content doing so, which is great to see. She keeps getting more and more and putting them on her chair, then cuddles between them all. I think the give her a sense of security so we go with it. And I know it isn't good dog training to let her sit so proudly on the console, but this was a proud moment because I thought it was a sign of building confidence. She also loves to be held, almost like a baby. She crawls up and taps you to hold her. Again, a good sign that she really wants just some love and to trust, so she'll get there I think. She loved Bob holding her on her back just rubbing her ears and belly.
