About Maverick

Maverick is a very sweet boy. We adopted him April 2017 and were his third home. He has come an incredibly long way since we got him. He has learned to eat out of a bowl, learned to walk on a leash and heal, learned basic obedience, and lost 30 pounds. He was incredibly shy and has since come out of his shell. He is a happy boy who loves to cuddle. He loves small dogs and is indifferent to cats (we have one), but sometimes big dogs can get him a little riled up. He is neutered and current on all shots. At the last visit to the vet, she told us he had finally reached his goal weight so he is quite healthy. He occasionally has dribbles when he needs to go pee, so we have some incontinence pills and we throw one in with his kibble when we feed him which has solved the issue. The reason we unfortunately have to rehome him is because he has some mild separation anxiety that is beyond our ability to help him with. We are so sad that we are not the right home for him, but we are dedicated to finding him a home he can flourish in. We have met with a behaviorist and have much information to hand over to Maverick's new owners about his separation anxiety, as well as all of his toys, crate, beds, etc. Maverick is VERY smart and learns incredibly quickly. He is food motivated and loves kongs/toy puzzles with treats in them. He has come a long way with us and we are hopeful that we can help him to find his forever home.
