About Snowflake

Hello all. My wife and I are in need of finding a new home for our seven year old female Akita named Snowflake. We have had her since she was seven weeks old, and she was a rescue. She is spayed and has never had puppies. She is pretty laid back for this breed and is well socialized. She is good around small dogs and cats, but does not do well around other big dogs in a home setting. She is not aggressive but very nosy around new animals. Also, she is not good around children. Again, not aggressive, but scared of kids. She is submissive to a point and tends to want to be left alone by children. We have a two year old son who tries to play with her but she wants nothing to do with him. We have worked with her and our son, but she is set in her ways. This is why we are looking for her a new home. We do not want to risk anything happening to our son if she decides to escalate her temperament from scared to defensive. She has always been and inside dog, but loves to lay outside and enjoy the weather on nice days. A fenced in yard is a plus, but not needed. She has to be on a leash though if taken out if you don't have a fence. She loves walks and playing outside. She is up to date on all shots and we have all her medical records. The only medical condition she has is her thyroid. She takes one little pill a day for the rest of her life to help keep her weight down. Other thank that she is super healthy with no other issues.
