About Parker

Parker is a rarity among dogs. Watch his video and you will see what I mean. He got thrown in the local hoosegow for vagrancy. We were sure that somebody had to be missing him because he was so well behaved and apparently healthy. Then we found out, even though he had no symptoms, that Parker had Heart Worms. We treated him and after five months he is totally healthy. In that time he learned some amazing obedience skills, nothing fancy mind you as he was on enforced inactivity while in treatment. Right from the start we knew he was different than most dogs . He walked on a slack lead like he was born to it. He was so calm and steady we thought at first that he was just a laid back fellow. Once his treatment was finished and he could run and play it became clear that there was more to him than just great basic obedience skills. He has a rare natural focus. Its like he is working all the time. He watches with great alertness. His favorite place to sit is on the top of the hill where he can see for miles. What is even more uncommon is that with all his seriousness about keeping an eye on things he has no destructive habitats. He doesn't chew or try to dig out or jump over the fence or fuss at the cows and horses or do a lot of barking. This dog has the potential to learn amazing tricks but his best trick is that his favorite thing to pay attention to is people. The last picture is of a couple of young people who came to visit us here at Marley's World and as you can see, Parker gave them the same ease of handling and intensity of attention he gives me.
