About Eva-ADOPTION PENDING

Schnauzer / Papillon
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Eva is a dignified older lady who, In her senior years, lost her dad very suddenly.. and the only love and security she'd ever known. The day came, after her dad's home was emptied, that it was time for Eva to leave. The only choice that seemed possible was the local shelter. Her dad's family, in their grief, didn't realize that the town's facility was a very high-kill shelter. Luck was on Eva's side that sad day...our compassionate rescuer was in the shelter lobby and had the pleasure of meeting Eva as she arrived. The decision took seconds...after she held Eva close and Eva snuggled into her with so much love and trust, our rescuer knew this sweet girl was coming home with her. Farfel's was contacted hours later and we happily accepted Eva into Farfel's Rescue. Eva, at 38 lbs (such a perfect medium sized girl) and approximately 10 - 11 years old has many healthy years left to be a full-time best friend. (Schnauzer mixes often live to a very ripe old age). Eva would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that very sweet best friend. She will be by your side to hug and love on..a kind and loving spirit to hold close when the challenges of the world seem overwhelming. But Eva is a low-maintenance girl who also has the ability to keep herself busy (or take a nap) while her family is involved in other things. After spending time with Eva, her Texas foster is positive that this beautiful girl's dad loved her very much as she's well-adjusted with high self-esteem. She had the following to say about sweet Eva: Eva is such a sweet, very smart and wonderful girl! My whole family loves her so much already. Eva enjoys both large and small dogs as well as cats. She loves gentle kids...my neighbor's children who are 9 and 14 fell in love with her and she with them! They had so much fun asking Eva for commands...she sits, shakes and rolls over %BD%BD%BD%81 She loves treats and is a natural born performer! Eva is completely house trained and runs straight to the door to be let out when I get home from work. She loves to play (in a very positive way) with all my dogs. They go into the yard and play like crazy and then the best part ever...Eva lies close beside me on the couch with her beautiful head draped over my leg. Eva sleeps in her crate all night without making a sound. What can I say...we've fallen in love with this amazing dog! Someone is going to get so lucky if they adopt this gem! Eva may be a bit shy initially as rehoming is challenging for any dog...but with love and nurturing, she will absolutely shine. We envision Eva with either retirees (she would be overjoyed with time spent and being at the center of a loving family) or a younger family who works at home or would be able to take Eva to a dog-friendly workplace. A mellow canine friend would be great for Eva as well. She would enjoy the companionship and cuddle times with her new doggie sibling. For those family members who enjoy neighborhood walks and time outside, Eva would love nothing more than to share the experience. Her foster loves daily walks to socialize with neighbors and Eva always comes along. She is very happy for these daily outings, fascinated by the activity around her. Eva breathes in the air...so happy to be out and about. And then, maybe her favorite part, it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed close beside her beloved family members. As a Schnauzer/Papillon mix, Eva appears to be a non-shedding girl...although it's difficult to tell for certain until her uncared for coat grows out. With a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition, her coat will grow in healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. Eva will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/16/18. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to [email protected] or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Eva, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
