About Niko

Niko was given to a shelter for escaping his outdoor dog run and having too much energy. He is 2 years old and weighs 43 pounds. Niko loves car rides and water. He is doing well with the children in his foster home. He shows some interest in cats but does not chase them. He's great with other dogs and has had no issues getting along with everyone is his foster home. Niko is house trained, and crate trained. He will play but is also learning how to settle inside. Niko has higher energy needs and will need daily exercise so that he can be a calm indoor companion. He can be shy at first but will warm up to strangers if given some time. Niko needs a stable environment that can provide him proper mental stimulation. He has had two homes in his short life. For the last year he has lived almost exclusively in an outdoor kennel but is quickly adjusting to indoor life. His foster home believes that he may have been an indoor dog in his first home when he was puppy. He seems to be housetrained but still has accidents on occasion.
