He is a two or three year old mix dog that I had originally placed into an amazing family with three kids. He was an only dog and was great with kids loved them, slept with them, went on beach trips and everything. One day the family had some neighborhood kids over at the house and I'm not sure what happened but bear ended up biting the kids lip. So the family asked if I would be willing to take him back because they couldn't risk it happening again with being such good friends with the family of the child that he bit. I gladly took him back hoping to find him a forever home. I run a horse farm and teach lessons he has been fine with all the kids I have here and people that come in and out of my house not once have I seen a problem with him wanting to bite however he does have a high prey drive and wants to chase the horses and cats so I keep him on a leash now. He is potty trained super quiet in the house sleeps on the bed and has a huge love bug. I do not believe he would intentionally hurt anybody as he has been great here, just protective and needs time to get to know you.I think he's really missing his family and depressed because he's lost a lot of weight and I'm having to take time getting him to gain it back. I think he would be best with an older couple or a family with older kids even a single person because there's no excuse for him biting the kid however I have not seen that in his nature being with me and I have tried to get in his face and get a reaction from him just so I know what I'm dealing with and not once has he tried to do anything. He really wants to please and be loved on. I have a newborn and he lays right next to him no problem and it breaks my heart to see him this way., I currently rent the house I live in and I'm only allowed 2 dogs and me taking him back puts me at 3 and I can't risk getting kicked out of my house with my newborn I really am just trying to find him a good home so I don't have to take him to the shelter where he will be put down I'm grasping at straws for anybody willing to help. I'm so sorry for the long message I have tried local shelters and rescue groups but everybody seems full and I know Animal Control just have him put down and I think he deserves to be in the right hands with the right person.
