About Toby

***2/9/2018 IMPORTANT*** My 15 year old little old man has decided that he doesn't care for the new guy in the house. I think Toby was starving for attention, and is slowly opening up to affection and being loved on. I don't think he is used to it. So now he actively seeks me for it and my little old man (my terrier mix) doesn't like it. He is snapping at Toby and they got into it on the couch earlier. I feel so bad for Toby because he is almost half the size of my Corky and so he doesn't know what to do. It is not fair to this little guy, he is just wanting to be loved and he deserves it so much!! My heart just breaks for him - he is such a sweetheart! He now just goes crazy for back and belly rubs!! Update 2/7/18: Well Toby went to the groomers today and got all cleaned up. They did as best as they could considering what the previous owners had let happen to his hair. He looks cute now!! ***2/5/2018 Toby came to me just a couple days ago. I received him from another state and had been told he was in good health, and only needed to be groomed. This poor little guy came to me because his owner died, and the person who had him could no longer keep him - they had him for almost a year and could not afford him and a new baby. When he arrived, his hair was severely matted, and his skin was very dry,with yellow flakes? But he was very friendly to the person (man) who transported him, and really friendly to me when he got here. He got along well with the other two dogs in the house, without any problems, 1 male and 1 female. He went to the vet today and got all of his shots updated, so he is good there, he is heart worm negative, he's been treated for fleas and ticks for 3 mo., and has heart worm meds. for 6 mo., and he has anti-inflammatory medication for knees and hips. He's got cataracts in both eyes, due to his age. He can can still see though - he is partially blind in one eye, but still sees pretty good out of the other. This poor little guy has back problems, basically from what the vet says, he doesn't have any cartilage between his disc from possible trauma, like maybe being hit by a car, or something like that, or could be degenerative. He also has one undescended testicle which is in his abdomen, that needs to be removed when he gets neutered. He also needs his dental taken care of, with some teeth to be removed, he wasn't sure how many yet. Then to top it off, he also has a lump on his left side. This little guy needs to have surgery to have all of these procedures done, and I just don't have the money for it. He is such a happy little dog, he isn't complaining about any of the problems, he just wants love, and runs around - seems to be actually happy. I haven't had any problems as of yet, he seems to be potty trained, he goes to the back door when he wants to go out, he's a good dog, and I honestly cannot take care of his medical problems - I just can't afford it. I just had a change in financial status and it was a big game changer for me. Is there someone out there that can take him in and give him the care that I am unable to afford? Oh and I am taking him to get him groomed because it is matted pretty bad - hopefully they can keep a little of it, but he will have some sweaters to keep warm. email for more information.
