About Abel

We rescued Abel from a bad breeding situation, where, because of his skin condition, he was going to be euthanized. When we met him and found out that his skin condition is congenital, but manageable, we could not let this boy die. His zest for life is contagious. He is the happiest, friendliest, most loving dog. He is about 9 months, and will probably be a medium-large dog as an adult. He loves other dogs, gets along with kitties, and loves anyone and everyone he meets. He is crate trained, and pretty much potty trained. He has already learned some basic obedience, loves his toys so much, and will play fetch with you. If you are considering adopting Abel, please read on. His skin condition is Ichthiosis. He will require bathing 2-3 times a week with special shampoo, and a thorough brushing out of his coat. He will come with all the supplies you need to start maintenance for him. He loves his baths, and loves being brushed out, so he makes it enjoyable! As part of your adoption contract, you will be required to transport the puppy to complete his/her shots, as well as for their spay/neuter at a later date. While puppies are adorable and cute, they are a lot of work. They take time, dedication, and above all, commitment. They will require training (we give you 4 training sessions with us). The rescue strives to give you a puppy that has a good foundation for you to build upon. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. We are never sure about breed because we do not do DNA (we make our best guess), so if that is important to you, this may not be the right choice for you. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a puppy. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative.You will receive a free bag of premium puppy food, as well as a coupon book and gift card if you live in the designated zip codes.
