About Lucky Duck

Adoption Fee: $175
Golden Retriever mix
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Meet Lucky Duck (goes by Lucky)! Lucky is 15 years old, neutered, should weigh about 60 pounds, but currently weighs about 40 pounds. He is a Heinz 57; we're just not sure what breeds he is made up of, probably retriever and shepherd. Lucky is super-sweet, so gentle, and great with smaller dogs, cats, and people. He hasn't been tested with larger dogs but could be, if a potential adopter wanted. He would enjoy having other dogs in his new home but would love all the attention of being an only dog as well. He is also good with children. His recent past has been rough, with neglect and abandonment, and coming to his foster home was stressful for him, but he quickly bounced back and is thriving. He is struggling just a bit with piddling in the house, but he's doing better every day, currently down to only about one accident per day. Lucky takes hip and liver supplements; he also could use a dental cleaning but the vet feels he is too old for one. He has a beautiful soft coat, and is so sweet and gentle with people and dogs. He wants most to be petted and to be shown affection and love. He shows no signs of food aggression, although he loves food and will bark a soft, slow bark if you aren't preparing his dinner fast enough! It's really cute. He isn't much of a barker at all otherwise, though. He is just starting to be crate-trained but once he is completely house trained, he won't need to be crated. Lucky is simply an awesome dog and, after a few days of adjustment, he would be a delight in any home! Lucky Duck is neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested and on preventative. His adoption fee is $175.
