About Huey

Adoption Fee: $125
Bombay / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Kitten
Sex: Female

Hello there! My name is Huey, and I'm a sweet, active, and playful black DSH/ Bombay mix gal who was born around Halloween in late October 2017. I have a sleek coat that's as shiny as black patent leather and copper-penny eyes. I love to have my head and body scratched, but I'm not as much of a lap kitty as my siblings. I much prefer to chase my balls with bells as well as dangled string. Can you believe that an adorable gal like me had rather hardscrabble beginnings? When my brother Louie, sister Dewey, and I were orphaned at just 5 weeks of age, a Good Samaritan rescued us and brought us to a vet, who contacted Buster's Friends, who is renowned for having a heart for black cats. What a relief that I don't have to contend with the dangerous life on the streets any more and that the food and water bowls are full and my beds are warm and cozy. I get along great with the other cats in my foster home, but I have not been around dogs or kids yet. As much as I like it here, I know that I deserve a home of my very own. Won't you come meet me today? Come scratch my chin, and then I'll show you what a great string-chaser I am. You'll be impressed at my playful antics! Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached video that appeared on Animal Planet or google 'Cats 101 Bombay.' Huey is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. Her adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Huey, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.
