About Lambeau

Belton Texas Lambeau is a 4 year old reverse brindle Great Dane. He loves to play ball of any kind. He loves tennis balls but his favorite is the blue and orange fetch balls with a squeaker. He has just taken a liking to swimming but would much rather hunt through the brush for squirrels. Lambeau has quite the nose for tracking little furry creatures so cats and other fluffy animals in the home would not be a good fit for him. Lambeau was bitten by a smaller dog when he was a puppy so small dogs and him do not get along as a result. Lambeau does not do well with children as he is unaware of his size and does not do well with their need to pull and lean on him so a home with children would not be a good fit for him either. Lambeau responds best to males and tends to be dominant towards females that do not have a commanding voice. Lambeau gets a long with most dogs in a controlled situation, so dog parks are not an ideal environment for him as it is over stimulating for him. He goes on daily walks, with a gentle leader, and with his gentle leader walks well. He knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, off, drop, and leave it. Lambeau responds better to his ball as a reward compared to a treat. He is a counter surfer so It is best to keep a food up and away or at he back if the counter. Though he can, he has never gotten on top of the counter but he is tall enough that his head rests on the counter. He is potty trained and crate trained but outgrew his xxl crate and sleeps on the couch as he tends to tear up dog beds in excitement. He loves blankets of every kind and carries them around with him everywhere and stuffed animals are his favorite. He does not tear the stuffed animals up just carries them around with him. Lambeau's ideal home would with a male that has no kids and preferably no other dogs but would do okay if they did. This individual would need to have time to exercise him daily and give him plenty of snuggles so that he feels loved and builds a strong bond with you.
