About Bonnie

Adoption Fee: $400
Border Collie mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Bonnie was born about June 11, 2016 and should weigh about 40 lbs. when she fills out. She came to us with tiny babies and she was a rack of ribs without much milk. She is amazingly sweet and helped us save her pups as well as she could until 4 healthy, happy, pups started eating on their own. So sad that she was taken to a high kill shelter without her pups. But, they arrived a couple of days later and no one has any clue how they survived without her. Sadly, due to her lack of milk and the cold temperatures in the shelter the pups began to die. Realizing what was happening we had the little family taken to the Grundy vet, Dr. Rasnake, until we could get to them. We hiked the heat in the Dog House (heated floors) and put a space heater safely in a crate in their room. Puppies that young can not regulate their body temperature and if chilled will just fade and die. For a good week it was touch and go for one pup, but he soon caught up and they are all perfectly wonderful! They are extremely social and FUNNY! Bonnie is now ready for her new life and is relieved she won't be having any more puppies. She is highly social and would love her humans around much of the time. She deserves the best life possible going forward. Her tail is cropped. This is all we know so far as the southern shelter tends not to ask questions on intake since the answer is mostly financial and they feel this is embarrassing. We will be learning as we go and so will you.
