About Oskar

Oskar is a young Brindle Anatolian Shepherd, born on December 31, 2015. He is a beautiful dog, and we have had him since he has been weaned from his mother. We have worked with him on command following, and as long as we are consistent and 'on our toes' with him he obeys. Unfortunately as can be the case with this breed, he has become very territorial and has started becoming aggressive toward our other male dog (Labrador Retriever) and we fear for his safety. He has also shown signs of aggression toward us and bitten, although it has always been provoked. We feel that much of his problem is that he is caged when we are not home and does not have the freedom to run and perform a job, as this is what Anatolians were bred to do. We are looking for a home for him where he can run and be given a job, such as protecting and guarding, preferably on a farm. We would also like for him to be with someone who has experience with owning dogs and training them, as he requires strict and consistent commands. Because of his aggression toward us and our other dog, we also feel he would do best in a home without children or other dogs, as we don't know how he would behave or react. We love him a lot and so we would not give him away to just anyone, but someone that can give him as good a home and love that we have. He can be a very sweet dog, but he is a protector and guardian first and foremost. He would make an excellent watch dog and farm buddy to anyone - his biggest needs are room to run and protect.
