About Beau

Beau was rescued from Fayette County Georgia animal control about 3 years ago. We were told at the time he was approximately 5 months old. He was neutered a short time later. He is a very happy dog and was the constant companion of my husband until he died a year ago. Beau went everywhere with him preferring to wait in the van to staying at home. Even went to pull a parts riding in the golf cart out to get car parts. He loves treats and eating dog food out of you hand makes him happy. He loves to chase balls in the yard and especially if they bounce and he can jump to catch them. He loves being outside and the winter weather doesn't bother him here in Georgia. He like babies and small children (gets along great with my grandson 3 yr). He likes dog parks and gets along with most other dogs. He definitely has the personality of the cattle dog. I had his DNA tested and he is a mix mostly ACD but has American Eskimo dog, Catahoula Leopard Dog and a bit of West Highland Terrier Dog in he DNA. After my husband died he has been pretty much my companion. I have continued to work and take Beau to work with me but it is a most boring life for him as I am a bookkeeper. I take him out for lunch walks but majority of the he is in my room. Not very stimulating for a dog. This has worked fairly well until four weeks ago. While walking Beau to my car after work (on a leash) he took off to see a small dog on the street and I could not hang on to him. He has become more than I can hold on to at age 70. While I am very fond of Beau, I just am not able to manage such a strong dog. My daughter has been keeping Beau now until I can find a great family for him. His shots are up-to-date and he is healthy. I am located in Decatur, GA.
