Adoption Fee: $225
Yorkie
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Romeo is 9 years old and weighs 7.2 pounds. Romeo came into UYR in a lot of pain and needing TLC and a specialist visit. He is being fostered in Orlando, FL. UPDATED BIO 02/26/2018: Hi again, Romeo here. Ya'll might remember that I was rescued from a high-kill shelter with what appeared to be a serious leg injury. No one came to claim me and that made me sad. Fast Forward a few weeks - and here's my update. I saw the bone specialist and he said I had a bone infection and did not need surgery. I only needed a few antibiotic injections. I've had two injections now and I'm almost walking like new again. Wahoo! I was recently neutered and had to have all my remaining teeth pulled. The rotten teeth were really hurting my mouth a lot, so I don't miss them. Don't worry, though, I can eat just fine. I just need to have soft food for now. Since I'm toofless, my tongue does stick out a little. I think it just adds to my cuteness, don't you? My foster mom says I'm doing pretty good in what is apparently called the House-Training Department. I have had a few accidents, although I try really hard to tell her I need to go out - this is a new concept for me, but I'm a smart lil fella and will get it very soon. I think I'm a pretty good all-around guy. I have lots of energy and love to go for walks and car rides - yep, I make a good traveler. I'm very obedient and I know a few basic commands. I sleep all night long in my crate. I am ready for my forever home and will love you forever and ever. Foster mom asked me to let everyone know that my vetting was kinda expensive because of my leg 'situation' and the injections I had to have. Sooooo, if you have a few dollars to spare, would you mind donating some of it to UYR since they took such great care to make sure I am pain-free and able to walk on my bum leg I will send you a big thank you and will be so appreciative. Romeo - out! UPDATED BIO 01/30/2018: Romeo here. I was recently pulled from a shelter by my special UYR angel Gina. She drove me halfway to Orlando where my new foster mom met her. I'll be camping out here until I'm well enough to go to my furever home. Let me tell you a little bit about me. First of all, everyone who met me at the shelter and Gina and my foster mom say I am sooooo s-w-e-e-t. I may be considered by some to be somewhat older, but I feel like I'm still in elementary school. I have lots and lots of energy in spite of having an ouchie in my front right leg. Right now, I don't want to walk on it, but I'll be going to a specialist dogtor soon to see if he can make it better. I'm not letting the leg injury slow me down. I can still keep up with my foster sister and I really do like her, even though she keeps running from me. Foster mom said that even with some temporary mobility issues, I'm on the move all the time and I never complain. The vet took an x-ray and it didn't show a break, but showed some trauma to the elbow joint (where the heck is that?). He said it may be from an old injury since there is a little bit of muscle wasting cuz' I haven't been walking on it. Foster mom said that I really do need a dental and may lose most of my teeth since my previous owner didn't take very good care of them. That's okay with me, and I'm sure I can still eat just fine, thank you very much. Stay tuned for updates on me after I see the orthopedic specialist. Oh, foster mom asked me to let everyone know that my vetting will be kinda expensive, so if you have a few dollars to spare, would you mind donating to some of it to UYR so that they can help me be pain-free and walk on my bum leg again? I will send you a big thank you and will be so appreciative. Romeo - out!
