About Bubba

Bubba is a wonderfully loving and loyal dog. We adopted Bubba from a Bulldog Rescue about a year ago and have worked very hard with him. He is house-broken and trained on a number of commands (on blanket, sit, stay, come). He is great with kids and attaches himself strongly to the female head of household. However, due to the home he was saved from, he has some issues with adult males and other dogs. He doesn't bark or bite, but he does get domineering on walks or when adult males come over (he lunges and/or mounts). Our challenge is that we are a very busy and active family and yet we can't take Bubba anywhere with us due to his behaviors. Additionally, we live on a large unfenced property, so we also can't just let him out for exercise and he gets some PTSD when we've tried to tether him. The best Bubba has ever been with visitors is when my mother-in-law comes to visit, he loves her and just follows her around the house, but she is in a retirement home, so not able to rehome with her. He needs a home with a fenced yard so he can get exercise without fear of him running off after someone/something and with someone who can be around more often with him, since he can't really go out and about with the family. There should be no other dogs or no cats (he chases). He can be with a family, just be prepared it will take him some time to build trust with the adult male.
