'Rollo' is an incredibly sweet, docile, inquisitive Jersey steer calf. We adopted him at 14 days of age as a result of an impetuous decision by an acquaintance to purchase baby animals at auction to attempt to turn a profit, only to quickly realize that he was in over his head... Rollo is very bonded with Bambi, the 3 year old Anglo-Nubian female goat whom we quickly purchased from a local farm to keep him company. They share a cozy home-made barn, food trough, toys, etc. I am prepared to let them go together to an amazing home where they will not be used for meat. Rollo was bottle fed, and is amazingly tolerant of all sorts of human affection- he accepts kisses on his face and snout, and he even obligingly gives them back! I have handled his legs and feet a lot since he was a baby and he is quite desensitized to his humans handling and fussing with him. He submits to 'spot-cleaning' with baby shampoo and loves to be brushed. Bambi the goat is not spayed; she had two separate term-pregnancies on her former farm and gave birth to healthy singletons both times. She is very vocal and extremely attached to me; she seems to prefer being by my side and overseeing my outdoor tasks throughout the day, instead of interacting with other animals or navigating her obstacle courses in the yard. She never gives up on trying to follow me into the house! The two of them get along very well and love to work in tandem to remove each others' cold weather coats that I made for them! These sweet farmbabies have brought me immense joy and have been the most wonderful blessing in my life; it is with immeasurable sadness that my current domestic situation necessitates rehoming them.
