About Daisy

Meet little Daisy. She is a 4-5 year old Min Pin/Dachshund mix. She weighs only 8 pounds and is on the very thin side. Her foster is working to get her to eat a little more and put some weight on. She is the sweetest little girl once she gets to know you. She is a special little girl who has been through way too much. She is from Texas where she once had a home (not a great one) but still a home. She also had a mate, his name was Goliath, and they were very close. Her human became sick and could not take care of her or her mate anymore and so she did what she thought was best, she put them in cages. They were kept in these cages for about 6 months until her human died. Then her human's family came in and decided to take them to the shelter to be euthanized. A local rescue heard of the story and was able to get Daisy and Goliath out of the home and into a foster situation until they could be transported to Colorado. They finally go their date and were on a transport, they almost made it until they got sick and transport turned around and took them back to Texas for urgent medical care. About an hour outside Texas, the transporter pulled over to check on them only to find Goliath had died and Daisy was laying over his body weeping. She had the saddest eyes and looked at the transporter to help her. She was driven straight to the vet clinic where she received care for food poisoning and dehydration. Wondering where the food poisoning came from, the foster was asked what she fed the two pups and found out it was 3 week old Christmas dinner. Poor Daisy has had one tragedy after another and she still is a great little girl. She is a bit timid at first, trust is not easy for her. After a bit she warms up and becomes a little snuggle girl. She is good with other dogs, not sure about cats. Little Daisy is only about 8 lbs. She needs a home with patience, she is working on going outside to go potty, but it scares her. She will use potty pads and with treats and in time I believe she will go outside. She would love to have a human to love again and give all her affection to. She loves the fireplace, kisses and lots of hugs. She is spayed, chipped and up to date on all her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $250.00. Please help Daisy find a new furever home.
