About Oliver

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Oliver is a sweet, affectionate Rat Terrier mix with the manners of a gentleman. He was rescued from a Georgia shelter, where he spent a couple of months waiting for a family to call his own. He surely hopes folks weren't discouraged by his age, but if they were, he says the joke's on them! They obviously didn't know that a 9-year-old Rattie in 'people' years is younger than human hunks George Clooney and Denzel Washington! And Oliver thinks he's clearly as refined as they--why, he's house-trained and crate trained and barks only to tell you something important is happening outside. At 27 lbs., he's not quite as svelte as George and Denzel, but his foster mom has him on a diet and exercise program. He's also being helped to shed those pounds and get in shape by his love of playing chase and wrestling with his 2-year-old canine foster brother, as well as his enjoyment of taking long walks. You should see how he dances with excitement when he sees the leash! In fact, Oliver wants to make sure you will be committed to continuing to help him get down to a healthy weight. Overall, he's a low-maintenance guy, who gets along with other dogs and absolutely loves people! He'll just want to curl up next to you on the couch or in your lap (after that walk, of course).
