About Franklin

Franklin is an 8.5-year-old Neutered Australian Shepperd/Border Collie mix. He is a medium-sized dog at 26 lbs and is looking for a loving new home. He has been with our family since he was a puppy and followed us through our marriage and the arrival of our two children. Franklin is a loyal and obedient companion. However, he does not like the energy of our kids. We had an early incident of him nipping at our oldest when she was 2. Since then we've done extensive training and have had no issues for over a year now. Recently, he has nipped her for the second time, and we believe the changes made to our family have been stressful for him. We also suspect that his lineage of a herding breed may have contributed to these incidents. He loves to be outside and running around in a yard or open space. He does like to bark, but only during play and when someone is approaching the house. Franklin gets along great with cats and will often play with our house cat. He does ok with other dogs but will need to introduce for compatibility. We think he would do best in a home with no young children and a yard to play in.
