About Scotty

This is Scotty He is about a year old he is a Plott hound. I took him in a couple months ago from a family nearby that rescued him last year when he was only a couple months old in a Pizza Hut parking lot. I originally took him for my parents to take back out West with them because my mom's older plott hound is getting to that point in his life, But unfortunately the one downside of Scotty is he gets severely anxious When in a vehicle for more than a few minutes. I know that's very undesirable in this day for dogs for traveling but I do believe with work and may be some medication he may be able to overcome that. With that being said he had to stay on the farm here with me and I live on my own with 7 other dogs and a bunch of farm animals and I am a full time nursing student as well as I work as a nurse so I am gone minimum 8 to 16 hours A-day 6 days a week and that is too busy to try and give a puppy the proper attention he needs to make him into a great dog. He is very smart and intelligent but he is a puppy so he has his doofus moments. We are big animals Advocates in our family and have rescued hundreds of animals over the years and are affiliated with 'for the love of paws' Which is a small rescue organization out of our small town of Oneida but we are limited on resources and fostering which is kind of what I have been doing with Scotty. Anyways he has a very calm happy temperament not an aggressive bone in his body he gets along great with other dogs he does great with kids and all ages When hes outside and ready to go that calm side goes away and he is on it lol . Hes questionable around cats and farm animals just because I haven't had the chance to integrate him with them. I would love to find him a home with a family that has a nice chunk of land he can run around and play on with another dog and where he can be inside Just as much as outside so he can get love and attention from his parents and he loves to be lazy and lay around anytime you're inside he'll be underneath your feet or on your lap if he can. He is a very good dog he still has some chewing problems but most of that is just him getting mischievous when I'm gone for too long. He loves toys he just loves being a happy boy! I generally crate train dogs but he doesn't do well in a crate so that's why I say he would be a great inside outside dog, outside when no one is home inside when the family is home. He is a healthy happy boy all I want for him is a happy loving home and family for him to live a great life and that we deserves. He understands when he is bad but he is still a puppy so as everyone knows puppies need constant reinforcement to help them learn what is right and wrong.. Anyways I apologize for my long description but I just wanna be upfront and honest and hope for the best I hope a fellow animal advocate can find this post and give Scotty a chance and give him a great life.
