About Dumbledore

Well hello there everybody! My name is Dumbledore, or 'DD' as I'm affectionately called by my caregivers. I'm one slick guy, and could put on a few more pounds when I get out of the anxiety of the shelter. I'm a boxer mix, and they think with my tall stature I might even have a bit of Great Dane mixed in. Who knows? I may be part bull too, because I definitely could not be adopted into a china shop. I'm looking for someone to play with me and give me treats when I do good. And I REALLY want to do good. I need someone to show me what being a dog is all about, because right now I have multiple things on my mind. Like what you ask? Well I really like to ��%BD'��%BD|.. SQUIRREL! Oops, sorry about that. I do get distracted easily. I would like to get along with other dogs, but I don't quite know how to go about doing that so need your help with that. Seems like when I rush a dog they put up their guard and well chaos ensues. I am heartworm negative and microchipped, and really ready to be the new addition to your household! Dumbledore is a male we think boxer mixed with possible Dane (he's so tall and stout!) that was found on Boyette Avenue, The lady who had him stated that he didn't get along with other dogs and tried to bite, but we have noticed none of that behavior here at the shelter upon intake. He was fine when given vaccinations and when next to the other dogs in the back did not mind at all or act like he wanted to go at them. We will continue to evaluate him. He seems to be a very good dog, just bigger than he thinks he is and he very easily has that bull in a china shop mentality. He is on stray hold until 1-16 and has a vetting appointment on 1-17. He needs to put on a little more weight and will be on a twice daily feeding schedule here at the shelter. The current adoption fee is $75 which includes the dogs spay or neuter and Rabies vaccination at a local vet, and covers the distemper/parvo vaccine and bordetella vaccine and dewormings it receives here at our shelter. No dog will leave the shelter to an adopter without being vetted first. By TN state law stray dogs are held for 3 days so they can be found by their owners before being put up for adoption or rescue. A dog found as a stray wearing a collar is held for 5 days before it is put up for adoption or rescue. Our shelter is a first come first adopt/rescue facility.There are no holds placed on dogs for potential adopters/rescue, however if a party is interested in a particular dog before it becomes available they may send an inquiry to [email protected] and those inquiries will be kept track of in order of received once dog becomes available. Adopters/rescues will be notified what order they are in in regards to each dog. They are available at 8am on the day they are available. Non vetted dogs will have an appointment scheduled and will be available for pickup for adoption the day after their surgery. Approved rescues may pull a dog and have vetted at their own expense once available to the public
