About Buddy

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID This adorable chunk of love is Buddy a 8 year old Pomeranian/Pug mix. He came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after his loving owner passed away. Buddy LOVES: car rides, walks, other dogs, treats, snuggles and belly rubs. He is quite shy and uncertain when meeting new people but with patience and tiny treats he usually comes around. He is much more apprehensive around men than women. He will bark and possibly growl. But again, with patience, treats and a walk...you'll win him over. Because he is shy no kids under 15 please; a calm/quiet home would be best. Buddy is used to living with a cat and when it comes to other dogs...he loves them! It doesn't matter if they don't like him, he doesn't understand and you will have to navigate that but don't worry, his feelings won't get hurt. Right now he lives with 3 other dogs that enjoy his company. Buddy is house trained and is familiar with a doggie door. His previous owner's family states that he was prone to urinating/marking on the furniture in the house. So far we have not seen any of this type of behavior from him in his new environment. He is crate trained and we have been crating him when he is not supervised and when it's time to go to bed. He is a big fan of the furniture/sofas so he can look out the living room window and watch an occasional movie or tv show with you. He knows how to 'sit' 'stay' 'lay down' 'off' and 'come here' and since he is so food oriented you could probably teach him some new ones. He also knows 'wait' which we practice on our walks at crosswalks, etc. He walks very well on a leash. He does not pull nor does he react to cars, bikes, skateboards, or dogs barking at him. Buddy needs a home where they understand his quirks and genuinely how special he really is. His new home will need to continue the diet we have placed him on in order to get him back into tip-top shape! He is a very sweet boy with a very big heart and has a lot of love to give and deserves the same in return. When he smiles he lights up the room. Buddy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
