About Jackson

Adoption Fee: $25
Great Dane / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Jackson-Adoption fee $25. Someone cares about Jackson. He has a sponsor who subsidized his fee.* Jackson was pulled from Animal Control after an extended period of time during which there was no interest being shown in the gentle big boy with the head turning bi-colored eyes. The practically perfect Great Dane/lab mix with a longing gaze that could not touch anyone's heart was on the short list for euthanasia. He came to the safety of our shelter in May and much to our amazement his lonely wait has not yet ended. Jackson is overjoyed when able to be with people and dogs. Even though the time of companionship is short, to him it is sweet. He is ambivalent to the office cats. He loves to play with children. Jackson is generous with kisses and though he is a big boy, is so happy when arms encircle him. His greatest wish in life is that those arms would never let go. Jackson is 4 years old. Video and more photos are at his FB ppost at: https://www.facebook.co/smithgallhumanesociety/photos/a.872311996146401.1073741862.548822128495391/1811598912217700/?type=3&theater *Sponsorship is often done as a meaningful gift to friends or family members as well as in memory of someone who would smile knowing that their concern for homeless animals continues to be honored. Application can be submitted at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ Each of our residents requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home appropriate for their needs and that will keep them safe. Each is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. The approval process can take from 1 to 3 days and is initiated with the submission of an application. It is advised to complete the process in advance if traveling a distance to meet one of our residents. Adoption policies and application procedures are at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. All approved adopters must accompany their new family member on the journey home. We do not ship nor transport.
