Dorothy has a heartbreaking background. When we took her from the shelter she had a broken jaw from being hit in the head with something very hard. This injury also caused some blindness in her left eye. It was determined when she was spayed that she was less that 1 year old which surprised us because of her physical condition. She needs a very special, patient family that is willing to work with her. She is high energy and jumps, because of that I don't recommend that she is with young children. Because of her energy, some dogs do not tolerate it. She is good with cats. She is fearful and can be 'fear reactive' to some people because of her abusive history. Public places are too overwhelming for her, so she needs an adopter that is not going to busy places. She is great in her crate, loves to go on walks, and is extremely affectionate when she loves you. She really needs a very special home, she so deserves it! We can offer a training package with a local trainer if required.
