About DIXIE

Dixie was left behind with her brother, Papi, when her only mommy fell into a financial rut. Ske has to move in with family, who did not invite her two firkids. Our rescue organization was contacted to help orctheu would go to a shelter. For Dixie, that would have been sure death. Dixie is 12 years old and has always lived in the same home. Upon picking her up she was quite scared, and extremely confused as we took her and her brother to their first car ride away from their home. Dixie was quite matted, very dirty and smelled as if she had not had a bath or grooming in ages. Her owner even tried, at the last minute, to remove some matting on her ear and ended up slicing the top layer of her ear off. We know a 12 year old is hard to place but this particular lady is so sweet and just wants to be loved and taken care of for her remaining years. All she asks for is a home with a yard and people around to keep her company. She would actually LOVE to stay with her brother Papi, a 4 year old, adorable, Morkie/Doxy/Chihuahua mix. Dixie is heartworm-! Ske is in our foster home with her brother at this time. Our adoption site, beaglesandmore.info, has our adoption application. We hope Dixie gets to live out her dream!
