MEET SCHULTZ This handsome hunk is a sable 2 year old German Shepherd male. Schultz comes to us from Davidson County Animal Control when he was surrendered with his mother. The shelter was absolutely overflowing and when they reached out to ask our help we just couldn't say no. Though cared for, Schultz did live outside with his previous family. He was kept up to date on his shots however has never been on heartworm preventative. As a result he is heartworm positive. He starts his treatments on January 10. Schultz is an absolute doll. He loves to lean on you get get scratches. He likes to play ball yet prefers to just chase Heidi rather than the ball. Though an active dog, Schultz also has a laid back side. He does not do well with small dogs or cats. But does do well with larger dogs with slow and proper introduction. Shultz would do well with an active family that is ready for a large, active companion. Schultz is UTD, and will be neutered, microchipped and HW Negative prior to adoption. Adoption fee $400. Due to his current heartworm status, Schultz is not yet available for adoption. The rescue will however consider a foster-to-adopt situation with the adoption becoming final once his heartworm treatment and neuter surgery have been completed.
