About Tristen

Tristan is a white three-year-old pit mix with a single brindle ear. At 4 months old he was turned into the Fayette County Lexington Kentucky Humane Society shelter, and I was called 10 days later. From a scrawny cut up Miss weighing approximately 18 lb to his current 80lb self, has been a life-altering transformation for him. I have owned Kristen for 3 years and have given him the best of care. Tristan would do well in a home with multiple family members, kids, or other animals to play with. He loves to run and explore his surroundings, but more than anything he loves to lick people in the face. This creates issues with smaller children younger than age 8 who cannot support his weight. He has a tendency to not smile our children down and we have been working on not jumping up on people. He has graduated Basic dog school and knows several commands and tricks. Tristan would do well with an owner who can apply kind but firm and consistent control. Tristan loves everyone and everything on two legs or four. He is cautious about people wearing large bulky clothing or black fabric due to his abusers using him as a bait dog and dressing in a similar fashion. Tristan is microchipped, and can come with complete that history records. He also will come with ample accessories, toys, a crate and bedding. Tristan is used to walking on a harness as he will choke himself when led by a collar. Kristen is a big rambunctious boy, in every sense of the word. He has a strong mind of his own and the will and strength to be stubborn. Tennis balls are strictly off-limits as he learned a very bad habits from a previous friend, and will actively snap at other dogs and a dog park setting if tennis balls are involved. We have since for the past year stopped going to dog parks because there are too many toys involved and too many problems with his breed and other owners being ignorant.
