About Parker

SPECIAL NEEDS DOG LOOKING FOR SPECIAL HOME! Meet Parker! Parker is ~2yr old, 8 lb chihuahua. He came to us with a fractured back and shattered pelvis, which has left Parker paralyzed in his rear end. This injury has not slowed him down physically, though, and definitely has not broken his spirit. He is the happiest, most playful little guy around. We have ordered him a cart to be able to provide some mobility assistance. Parker needs a home that will be up to the challenge of caring for a rear paralyzed dog- the main challenge being potty habits. He doesn't really have bladder or bowl control, but we do think he could be taught to go on a schedule with assistance. He is going to be starting with some swim therapy to see if that helps keep his muscle tone up and builds rear end strength. He loves other dogs and does great with people of all ages! He would even love a job maybe going to schools to teach kids about disabilities and overcoming adversity (3 Parker's adoption donation of $250 helps to cover his medical care, includinghis visit to the neurologist and his wheelchair.
