About Ben

Sweet and gentle Ben is a black shepherd mix who spent 6 years with the same family and through no fault of his own found himself at the shelter after a baby came along. Ben weighs in the 60 lb. range, is house trained, walks well on leash, and responds to 'stay,' 'shake,' and 'sit.' If you come to visit, Ben may try to hide in the back of his kennel; he's a shy fellow who seems to prefer the ladies; he takes longer to warm up to men. You may need more than one meeting to reassure him, but for the person who can take the time to be friends with Ben, Ben has at least 2 things in his favor: maturity and manners.
