About Chai-ADOPTION PENDING

Corgi / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Our sweet and beautiful Chai couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she tried. Chai is a 12 - 18 month old, 15 lb Corgi/Cattle Dog mix that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life. The Corgi/Cattle Dog has become a popular designer breed mix in the last few years. Their excellent temperaments, super intelligence and smaller size speak to active families who would like a hiking partner as well as an easy to train family member and lap dog. Their smaller size allows them to accompany their people everywhere a well-behaved, smaller dog is welcome. It makes perfect sense that these beautiful dogs are so desirable for families with dog-loving kids. Farfel's rescues almost every Corgi and Cattle Dog that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great personalities and be loyal and loving family members. Chai has all these wonderful traits and was described by her Kansas foster mom as just about PERFECT once comfortable! Chai has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound%BD'%BD|never to be cold or hungry again. With it all%BD'%BD|Chai doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Chai is so young, she's somewhat of a blank slate%BD'%BD|open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with her family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Chai and her people. Together they will learn the skills for Chai to be a companion that is well-behaved and looks toward her people for leadership. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. Chai tends to be a happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and responds so well to love and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Chai gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's lap for belly rubs and soft touches. Chai loves to come along (and is very portable at 15 lbs)..be it to a dog-friendly workplace, a hike on a Colorado trail, a vacation or just socializing%BD'%BD|Chai would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere. We envision Chai as an only-dog or a companion to another like-sized dog in a home that will provide her with exercise and stimulation (so important for every companion dog). Chai enjoys other dogs and cats and would form strong bonds with them. She'd also be very happy to be a single dog in a very involved family...she'd be ecstatic to get all the attention for the first time in her life. Chai wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone%BD'%BD|she is far too people-oriented to be happy with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Chai would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog. Chai will require a commitment to periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition. Her coat will lose the sad hair of her shelter days and will grow in cottony-soft and very healthy. We've requested that Chai be spayed prior to her arrival in Colorado. Since Kansas shelters in these small impoverished areas have very limited access to vets and funding...this isn't always possible. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Chai's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Chai will be arriving on transport in Denver on Thursday 1/25/18. If interested in this very sweet girl who will be a very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to [email protected] or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Chai, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
