About Diamond Dove

Diamond Doves are gentle, low-maintenance birds native to Australia. They're about the size of lovebirds & coo vs squawk/chirp. Diamond Doves can be tamed but it takes time & patience. Don't house them outside in cool weather, the cold will kill them. The male dove is in the foreground; it's mate is in the background. The mated pair bond for life & cannot be separated; must adopt as a pair. Both birds were hatched in 2015 & purchased from a pet store. The male is hesitant, but can be coaxed to eat out of hand; the female not so much. Doves are great for an older person or an apartment dweller; they don't require a lot of attention. Owner has developed Alzheimer's & can no longer care for the birds. Will only adopt to low energy homes.
