About Amber

Adoption Fee: $100
Chinese Crested / Yorkie
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

This pretty golden girl is assessed to be about 8 years old. She is temporarily staying offsite so that she could be vetted and allowed to feel secure to overcome the stress of no longer being in the environment of which she was familiar. This offsite assessment is giving us a chance to see her personality as well as her home training. She is totally calm and loving as well as appreciative of adults, older children, cats and dogs of all sizes/genders. She is afraid of small children and will hide from them. She travels well and walks very nicely on leash. She would be content to sit in a lap for the rest of her life if permitted. She will sound the alarm if someone comes to the door but otherwise is a quiet girl. Appt needed for approved adopters to meet Amber. Amber's adoption fee is $100. Application can be submitted online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ or at the shelter. The adoption policies and application process are detailed at https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/adoption-policies/ Adoption of all dogs/cats requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home appropriate for their needs and that will keep them safe. The process can take 1 to 3 days and for anyone traveling a distance to meet a dog/cat, it is suggested that the process be done first so that the applicant will know if they are approved to adopt. Each of our residents is loved and nurtured by our staff and volunteers during their stay with us and each is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. All approved adopters must come to the shelter and accompany their new family member on the journey home. We do not ship nor do we transport. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4. Shelter location: 4823 Helen Hwy. 75N, Sautee, GA 30571 Shelter phone: 706-865-4135 Shelter email: [email protected] Sautee is located 3 miles from the Alpine town of Helen in the NE mountains of GA.
