About Drogo

If Drogo is still listed, we are still accepting applications. Meet Drogo. This boy has our hearts. Drogo was found as a stray in late fall and was never claimed. When we completed his vetting, he was found to be heartworm positive. We have treated many, many heartworm positive dogs, but none as far along as poor Drogo. This means he was infected by a mosquito at a very early age and was never given preventatives by his previous owner. Although there was a chance we could lose him through the treatment, we knew we had to try and give him his chance. Had we done nothing, Drogo would not have survived. Thankfully, Drogo breezed through treatment and is now ready for a home of his own. He will not let anything get him down and is a true survivor. We are so glad he came into our lives and we want a happy ever after for him. Drogo is likely a husky/lab mix, maybe 3 years old. He is friendly with all humans, but must be an only pet. He has great house manners and does not need to be crated. Drogo likes to snuggle with his people and is happy to sleep on his human's bed, or happy on a pet bed. He loves to chew bones and can be somewhat food protective. Drogo would be best around children who understand to leave him alone when he's eating. Drogo pulls a bit on leash but does well with a harness. He rides well in the car. Drogo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
