About Chii

Domestic Cat / Maine Coon
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Let me start off by saying that finding Chii a new home has been my goal for a long time, but that I have very much struggled to come to terms with actually putting him in someone else's hands. I understand now that I am not able to give this cat what he needs, and because of that I am very seriously looking for a new place for him. What am I looking for when it comes to Chii? Well, he is a very high energy cat who absolutely loves to climb and is very shy to strangers meaning he also likes to hide! It means he is very, very rough on in door settings. So, I am looking for someone who may intend to get him neutered (I hear this calms them down) or is happy to have an outdoor or indoor/outdoor cat. Why not let him out at my house? Chii was picked up out of the feral litters around my place when he was little, due to his time inside he no longer shares a bond with those cats and instead tries to fight them. This isn't okay for him or them! Why finally find him a new home? Well, Chii's need to climb and get out his energy finally caused an accident that about put me in a state of panic. Trying to jump to a high place he instead fell and broke a window, falling out it in the process. Somehow, he managed to not cut himself up while doing so which I'm so grateful for. But, on top of this broken window, the panicked kitty did what panicked kitties are prone to do and lashed out at me. He simply needs a place to be free where he won't be in danger of hurting himself and thus potentially hurting others. Tonight is not a good night for either of us, he's in a large dog kennel for the night and an absolute mess. I'm just an absolute frazzled mess and hope I can clean him up of dirt and in the morning. Various information: -Long/Mid-Hair (Does have minor issues with hairballs) including very puffy tail and tufts of long fur between his toes. -Spoiled! Chii gets half a can of wet food daily to go with his bowl of dry. Usually also 7-8 kitty treats. (Will send his canned food and treats with him.) -Grabber/Biter. I can only assume it's due to his high energy and not neutered state, but he has too much energy and can sometimes target people for play. So, I don't recommend him around children! He is a pretty big cat! -Loves to climb and be outside. Like, he would rather be in a tree than on your lap. He likes to go, go, go! And will usually protest being held still. (Again, why he would be a good outside cat.) -He DOES spray. He is an unneutered male! I usually use pet friendly ammonia-destroying cleaners in his room. But again, if he's mainly outdoors it's less of a concern. -No doubt has fleas, as he was outside and roaming about. I don't have flea drops immediately on hand to treat him with. -Oily patch on tail which causes some matting. Vet said when he was younger that it was of no major concern to just brush/wash it out when needed. If you've read this far I suggest TEXTING me. For some reason my phone seems plagued with spam calls so I am not quick to answer unknown numbers! I need to put him in the hands of someone who can handle him. And soon. Even if it's a barn he'll be moving to, I think it would improve his life by miles to have the room he really needs! Please have a cat carrier of your own! I no longer have one or I would be happy to send him home in it. Be aware he is a bit big, though not massive, so a sturdy plastic is recommended. (He destroyed a cloth one previously!)
